The IceCube population at the South Pole is high right now for the final IceCube Upgrade field season, but there are still some people whose stays are over. Last week saw the departure of Ralf Auer, IceCube winterover manager, shown above with current winterovers Alicia and Camille as he bid them farewell. The winterovers, of course, will be sticking around for much longer as their stint continues for the whole winter season (still to come). Last week was filled with various activities, like detector maintenance tasks and emergency response team drills. These images show the team involved in practicing a patient evacuation from the drill camp. Indoors, the galley is beginning to look a lot like Christmas.
