Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the IceCube Collaboration is holding its annual spring collaboration meeting virtually. Sessions began this past week and will continue through May 15. The spread-out schedule allows collaborators to meet for a few hours each day during times that accommodate the many time zones in which IceCube institutions are situated.
Nearly 200 members of the international IceCube community have registered to attend the virtual meeting. Using video conferencing platforms, collaborators will discuss recent results and review the status of and future improvements to the IceCube Neutrino Observatory (including the forthcoming IceCube Upgrade). Presentations will cover calibration, simulation and reconstruction efforts, maintenance and operations, new research ideas, and ongoing analyses that span the wide range of science being carried out with IceCube data. This morning, IceCube postdocs and students gathered virtually for the Early Career Scientists call. The collaboration will announce the winners of the IceCube Impact Awards at the kickoff plenary meeting on Monday, May 11.
