An aeriel view of the IceCube Lab also shows the IceCube Upgrade drill camp in its current state of summer season activity. The Upgrade team has been working steadily over the summer to prepare for next year’s drilling activities. Last week, a group of IceCubers assisted in getting the IceAct telescopes deployed and operational—as good as any reason to take a celebratory group photo. As the end of the summer season approaches, snow grooming ramps up at the Pole to clear the large amounts of accumulated snow around the South Pole station and the Dark Sector buildings. IceCube winterover Ilya captured a nice image of a sun halo with sun dogs as it appeared above one of the IceCube Lab cable towers.
