Greenery, and flowers, … this doesn’t look like much like the South Pole. But this photo was taken at an important place in the South Pole station—the greenhouse. If it weren’t for the greenhouse, they wouldn’t have any fresh vegetables during the long winter. They can have extra-large pretzels, though, greenhouse or not. And that’s just what they did to celebrate Oktoberfest. Someone even came prepared to the Pole with his lederhosen.
