Week 32 at the Pole

It’s still dark at the Pole these days, but knowing that the sunrise is not that far off, station staff are taking every opportunity to capture some great night photos. It got a little windy this week, too, at least by South Pole standards. Other parts of Antarctica, like the coastal valleys where they experience katabatic winds, generally have it worse. The wind wasn’t enough to thwart tripod setup, but they did need some help with panoramic shots. What, no panoramic head mount? No problem, just have your local South Pole machinist make one for you.
