
The results of the twelfth edition of the IceCube Impact Awards were announced during IceCube’s spring collaboration meeting dinner at the Uppsala Castle in Uppsala, Sweden. During the ceremony, IceCube spokesperson Erin O’Sullivan gave each recipient a certificate and mug to commemorate their achievements.

The awardees are Christoph Günther (RWTH Aachen University); Sarah Mechbal (DESY); Giacomo Sommani (Ruhr-Universität Bochum); and Bennett Brinson (Georgia Institute of Technology), Jimmy DeLaunay (Pennsylvania State University), Hannah Erpenbeck (University of Wisconsin–Madison), Philipp Fürst (RWTH Aachen University), Sam Hori (University of Wisconsin–Madison), Niclas Krieger (Ruhr-Universität Bochum), Karlijn Kruiswijk (Université catholique de Louvain), Michael Larson (University of Maryland), Sarah Mancina (Università Degli Studi di Padova), Jesse Osborn (University of Wisconsin–Madison), Larissa Paul (South Dakota School of Mines and Technology), Steve Sclafani (University of Maryland), Timo Stürwald (University of Wuppertal), and Jan Weldert (Pennsylvania State University), recipients of the Group Impact Award.
The IceCube Impact Awards, established in 2018, recognize broad and significant contributions to IceCube that are normally not acknowledged through its scientific publications. The award is split into the following three categories: individual, legacy, and group awards.

Christoph Günther
For leadership and coordination in the development and testing of the mini-mainboard, an integral part of future IceCube instrumentation.
Sarah Mechbal
For leadership and coordination of the characterization and acceptance testing of IceCube Upgrade mDOMs, while fostering a cooperative communication environment.
Giacomo Sommani
For tireless efforts to improve the performance and robustness of the reconstruction of IceCube real-time alerts.
