mumf2k v0.2
-
Active volume around the detector: a cylinder with
Radius=400m and Height=800m. Propagating muons in three steps:
-
from ice surface to active volume:
energy loss simulation continuous for energy transfer < 0.001 and stochastic
for energy transfer > 0.001. Function ENEW in MUM.
-
inside active volume: steps
interactions simulation continuous for energy transfer < 500 MeV and
stochastic for energy transfer > 500 MeV. Function EARRAY2 in MUM. all
the secondaries are saved in f2k files.
-
from active volume
to desappearence: use of function ENEW in
MUM. See point 1.
-
This package contains:
-
mum.f : MUM FORTRAN propagation code
-
mumf2k.cc : the C f2k AMANDA data format
-
rm48.f : random number generator
-
Makefile
-
README : it contains instructions for mumf2k use
with all the options that can be used to change the defaults parameter
values, such as active volume radius and height, minimum absolute and relative
energy transfer and so on.
-
known BUGS:
-
The muon track length written in the data file is
not still correctly determined.
-
v0.2.2
-
Reorganization of muon energy loss loop inside the mumf2k.cc code. Correction
of logical errors and optimazation of single muon tracking cycle.
-
Hopefully the muon track length determination has been corrected properly.
tests are under execution.
-
known BUGS:
-
Interaction token error: mumf2k interprets photonuclear
interaction from MUM as "hadr" token. But RDMC interprets "hadr" tokens
as hadronic showers inside the detector, due for instance to neutrinos.
Nuclear interaction is token "munu" (muon nuclear interaction).
