For those of you using mapping sites to check routes and mileages, there are LOTS of one-way streets in downtown Madison. Please remember that your actual distance will be less if you are planning to walk, since you can walk against traffic on many streets.
The website for our transit service is www.mymetrobus.com. Route 80/81 is the free campus bus. From the downtown hotels, you can take the 38 or almost any bus from State and Mifflin streets.

If you will have business at the IceCube offices during your stay, they are a short walk from the Concourse or the Hilton, and can be easily reached on foot or by bus from the conference site and the Lowell and Friederick Centers.
For restaurant possibilities, go to www.thedailypage.com and click on Dining Guide, then Downtown or Near West under All Locations. There are links to Mapquest, as well as hours places are open. You can walk to anywhere in the 500 or 600 blocks of State St or University, the 1300-1600 blocks of Monroe, or the 800-1300 blocks of Regent quite easily from Chamberlin Hall, the conference site. Many places will deliver, too. Type "deliver" in the search box for options.Arriving to Madison via Air
Madison is served by the Dane County Regional Airport, with more than 100 daily flights. There is nonstop air service from Chicago, Cincinnati, Denver, Detroit, Memphis, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Newark, and St. Louis. The commercial airlines serving Madison are:

- Continental Express (Continental)
- Midwest Express/Skyway
- United Express (United)
A taxi from the airport to the downtown/campus area is a 15-20 minute ride (except during rush hour) and will cost around $14.
If you are coming from outside the U.S. and have to buy a separate ticket to Madison, you might consider taking the bus from the O'Hare airport in Chicago.
Arriving to Madison Via Bus: The Van Galder Bus Company offers service between Chicago/O'Hare and the University of Wisconsin Memorial Union. Buses depart every 30 to 90 minutes and reach Madison in about 3.5 hours. The cost is $24 each way. The Memorial Union, at 800 Langdon St., is about 9 blocks away from 222 West Washington Ave.
